Chinese Percussion instruments have a long history in traditional Chinese folk music, operas, orchestra, and ensembles of all sizes. These instruments play a vital role in providing stability, rhythm and a variety of tonal colors, sound, resonance, and effects. Chinese Percussion are comprised of metal types (large gongs, small gongs, cloud gongs, cymbals, bells and chimes), the wood type (clappers, bamboo clappers, bangzi and temple block etc.) and the skin type (dagu, paigu, hand drums).
